Regarding "caring employers having injured workers stay home until they are completely healed" - doing this is not caring for workers at all. Study after study has shown that the sooner a worker returns/stays on the job doing modified work the sooner he/she is able to return to full duties and the worker suffers less emotional problems. The work must be meaningful and must not aggravate or prolong the healing of a worker. A complete safety program that works has Claims Management as a component but it is only one piece of the total. Claims Management alone will not reduce the ERA of an employer.
